Grade Level Supply Lists 2019-2020

Fifth Grade

General School Supplies:

ONE Backpack that can fit into a cubby (NO ROLLING BOOKBAGS) 
FOUR Packs of wide-ruled paper PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THESE. – Just write your full name on the plastic wrapping. Mrs. Ernest will store 3 of the packs, and we will split the fourth pack when we arrange supplies in class.
FOUR Packs of pencils Please open and split one pack among the 4 pencil pouches. Mrs. Ernest will store the other three packs in her room, so put your name on the bag/box.
ONE Pencil pouch (but there will be 4 total)  This will be stored in your expandable file and will hold the pencils that you will take back and forth from home to school and from classroom to classroom. (There are three other pencil pouches needed, but each one of those will stay in each classroom and hold the supplies for that room only.) 
ONE Expandable file with at least 7 sections Please label the sections: Paper/Pencils, Agenda, ELA Notebooks, Ernest, Langley, Serenius, Take Home

Your child will need the following supplies at home for homework:

  • Calculator & ruler
  • Dictionary or access to an online dictionary
  • Paper & pencils
  • Colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc.

Note: It is very important that you get materials that match the descriptions above. We are specific because there are reasons for the materials we use and don’t use. We can show you examples the first day of school if you have questions about any of the materials above.

 

Fourth Grade

Third Grade

  • 1 pack of eraser caps
  • 1 set of headphones for computer labs

Second Grade

  • 2 folders with inside pockets
  • 2 packs of notebook paper
  • 2 packs of pencils
  • 2 packs of pencil erasers (the kind that fit on top of the pencil)
  • 1 pack of glue sticks
  • 1 box of gallon sized bags
  • 1 box of sandwich sized bags
  • 4 journal notebooks
  • 1 pencil box – prepare with crayons and colored pencils
  • 1 pack of highlighters
  • 1 pack of Expo markers
  • 1 pack of sticky notes

First Grade

  • 2 boxes of 24 pack crayons 
  • 1 box of 10 count colored markers 
  • 1 box of 12 count colored pencils
  • 1 pack of glue sticks 
  • 1 hand held pencil sharpener 
  • 1 plastic pocket folder (light colors preferred- we need to be able to label it) 
  • 2 marbled composition notebooks (wide ruled) 
  • Backpack with NO wheels
  • 1 pack of pencils-Ticonderoga  
  • 1 pack of erasers  
  • 1 pair of headphones (not ear buds) 
  • Pencil box ( approximately 8″x 4″- no pouches) 
  • 1 pack of sticky notes 
  • 1 box of Ziploc bags (any size- we use them all) 
  • Dry erase markers 
  • Agenda book to be purchased from JVE 
  • $5 for Magazine Subscription (purchased by 1st grade teachers) 

Please do not label items with child’s name. Please do not send bottled glue, scissors, or other items unless requested by your child’s teacher. Additional items will be requested as needed throughout the year.

Kindergarten

  • Large Pack of Crayons- (regular size, for classroom use.) 
  • Full size backpack (No rolling backpacks please!) 
  • Agenda book (These will be purchased from Jonathan Valley Elementary at the beginning of the school year.) 
  • One large bath towel (No storage room for pillows or blankets.) 
  • Rest mat (blue and red, 4 fold)
  • One set of child-size headphones (for your child to use in the computer lab.) No earbuds please! 
  • 2 glue sticks 
  • One small bottle of Elmer’s glue

  • One box of zip-style plastic baggies. All sizes are needed, but gallon size are the most needed.
