Math Nights for Parents and Students

All parents and students are invited to Math Night at Jonathan Valley. This is an opportunity for students to show their parents all the cool ways they know how to do math. Teachers will be helping both students and parents learn new strategies for solving math problems. Our new curriculum really emphasizes a deeper understanding of number sense and mathematical problem solving. One of the best things about this new way of teaching and learning is that there are multiple ways to solve the same problem and still come up with the correct answer. The kids are great at this and will be super excited to be able to teach their parents.

When: Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd  grade   Tuesday 3/5

3rd and 4th grade                                            Tuesday 3/19

What time: 6:00 pm

Although we realize this workshop is happening late in the school year, the strategies your kids will share with you are strategies they will use next year and in the following years as they continue to learn math.
