Fourth and fifth grade students were given the opportunity to participate in the Jonathan Valley Vocabulary Word of the Week poster contest. For the week of August 24th to August 28th all students at Jonathan Valley studied the word humidity. Fourth and fifth graders were given three jokes about humidity and were asked to illustrate the joke of their choice. A panel of judges chose three fifth graders’ work! These students will receive a free book and each poster will be displayed throughout the school to remind everyone of the word humidity.

Kadie Arrington is a fifth grade student at Jonathan Valley. Her joke was: “It’s so humid frogs are knocking at the door, asking to come in and dry off a while.

Dirk Bizub a fifth grader at Jonathan Valley drew about the joke: “It’s so humid I had to cover the fish tank to keep them from swimming out!”
