On Thursday evening, May 12, several parents and students attended our annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Night. This event was hosted by our Title I department and was led by three ladies from the Asheville office of NC State University’s Science House. The theme for the evening was “Those Amazing Gasses”. The kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students and their parents created “table gliders” from a variety of materials and then each student placed his or her glider in front of a table fan to see how far it would go. There were many different designs of gliders and all were very cool. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and their parents made “hovercrafts” out of balloons, tape, and CDs. The competition was fierce, but the ultimate winner was Charlie Ward because her hovercraft traveled the greatest distance. Thank you to all who came to our spring 2016 STEM night!018 019 020 021 022 023 024 025 026 027 028 029
