Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,
Just wanted to remind everyone that the information in this phone call is sent to your email if you have it set up on Blackboard Connect, the HCS alert system, through Remind, and posted on our JVE school website.
Last night, the school board voted to allow students to return to school for blended instruction (one week at school, one week remote) beginning Monday, September 28th. We are so excited to welcome our students back to school. Families that have chosen remote will keep their students at home and continue to receive online instruction.
We are working on dividing the blended students into two groups. We are coordinating our efforts with WMS and THS to make sure siblings are on the same schedule if requested on the survey you completed with a faculty or staff member from JVE last week. We are also working to coordinate our bus schedules, since seating on buses is limited to 22 students, however siblings are allowed to sit together.
In addition, we are working to determine which teachers will be teaching all of the remote students, and which teachers will be teaching the blended students based on the survey results.
Our goal is to begin contacting families on Friday to let them know who their child’s teacher will be for blended or remote, and if they will be on Week A or Week B. We have tried our best to keep students with their original teacher, however this will not be possible in all cases, as some of our JVE teachers will be assigned to teach all of the remote students. Those teachers blended students will then be reassigned to another grade level teacher.
We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we begin the process of bringing our blended learning students back to JVE. We also thank you for your willingness to follow the protocols we are required to follow such as taking student temperatures upon arrival to school, asking health questions, and wearing masks.
I will be sending more details out next week regarding car line procedures, bus procedures, and other important details.
If you have not heard from your child’s teacher by the end of the day on Monday, September 21st, please call us and let us know. As always please call us with any questions or concerns.
