Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

This message contains information about Read Across America Week and our upcoming 27 week assessment schedule.

This upcoming week, March 1-5, is Read Across America Week in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  Mrs. Abbe, our media center specialist, has some fun activities planned for all of our students at Jonathan Valley.  You might even see some of our Pre-K and Kindergarten students dressed up to celebrate this special week.

Please make sure you have located the letter sent home on Friday with your child about the upcoming 27 week assessment schedule.  March 8-19 has been reserved for us to complete the required 27 week assessments at Jonathan Valley Elementary.  If your child is in 2nd-5th grade, please make sure they get a good night’s rest the night before their assessment, arrive at school on time, eat a good breakfast either at home or school, and are prepared to do their best.  Our teachers use the data from these assessments to inform their planning for Reading, Math, and Science for the remainder of the year.
