Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

Thank you for a great start to the 21-22 school year. We love your kids and are so glad that your family is a part of Jonathan Valley.  Please remember all phone call information is also sent through the email associated with this phone account, through Remind, and posted on our JVE website.  

This message contains information about the JVE t-shirt fundraiser for flood victims, mask update, morning drop off, afternoon car line, bus riders, Kindergarten, and beginning of the year paperwork.

JVE would like to be of help to our Haywood County students and families that have experienced devastating loss due to the flooding from Tropical Storm Fred. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, with the proceeds going to the Haywood County Schools Foundation fund for flooding victims, please visit www.bonfire.com/hcs/ to purchase. Orders are placed online, and will be delivered to your home.

Masks are now required indoors for all students, staff and visitors. Masks

are required outdoors when social distancing is not possible.  Please see the attached press releases about masking.

Please remember our doors open at 7:30 AM.  Students should remain in their vehicles until the front doors are unlocked and someone is on duty.  The tardy bell rings at 8:10.  We ask that if you are picking up a student in the  afternoon car  line, please remain beside your vehicle or in your vehicle.  Please do not come on the sidewalk.  We need the sidewalk clear for our students, and this also poses a safety issue.  Just a friendly reminder to keep your yellow car tag visible from the time you enter the car line until the time you leave the car line.  If you need extra yellow car tags just let us know.   Bus route times can fluctuate due to traffic and other unforeseen circumstances.  Please allow at least 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after the estimated arrival and drop off times.

Due to the schedule change last week our Kindergarten schedule has also changed.  Kindergarten parent, small group, “Meet the Teacher, will be this week.  Your child’s teacher will be in contact with you to set up a meeting day / time.  Kindergarten staggered entry will begin the week of 8/30/21.

After school care paperwork was sent home with all students last week.  We ask all families to fill this paperwork out even if you do not plan for your child to stay in after school care.  Emergencies do arise, and if we do not have paperwork on file, your child cannot go to after school care.  Also, please read through the agenda book, and be sure to sign the page in the agenda indicating you have read it.
