Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying these last few moments of  Summer break with family and friends.  

This message has information about the beginning of the 22-23 school year, after school care, student and teacher assignments, Meet the Teacher, school supply lists, JVE night at THS football, and PreK. 

We are looking forward to seeing all of our 1st – 5th grade Jonathan Valley Panthers on Monday, August 22, the first day of school.  The first day of school will be a 12:30 dismissal.  You can find the 22-23 HCS calendar on the HCS website under the Calendars tab, and the calendar has also been sent to the email you have registered for these updates as well as your Remind account.  

After school care will begin on August 24th.  Paperwork will be sent home with students the first day of school.  We encourage all families to fill out after school care paperwork even if you don’t plan for your child to attend, because at times there are emergencies or unforeseen circumstances when children need to stay.  If there is no paperwork on file your child cannot stay due to after school care rules and regulations.

Teachers mailed letters or postcards to their students in 1st – 5th grade last week.  Give us a call if you don’t receive anything in the mail by August 8th.  

Rising Kindergarten students that have already registered at JVE should check for important dates and times in the packet you were given at Kindergarten registration.  Kindergarten teachers will  also be sending  out a letter soon with important  information and reminders about Kindergarten.  

“Meet the Teacher” at the beginning of the 22-23 school year for 1st-5th grade students will be scheduled by each classroom teacher.  Each teacher will be offering several days / times for you and your child to come to Jonathan Valley and meet with them in small groups to get to know them and so they can get to know your child.  More information will be in the mail you receive from your child’s teacher.

We also have paper copies available in our office, and copies were also sent home at the end of the school year with report cards.  

Parents/Guardians of students attending Jonathan Valley Elementary School Pre-K Programs are invited to a PreK Parent / Guardian Orientation Meeting on August 17th at 5:00 in the HCS Board of Education Room at the Education Center located at 3157 Broad Street in Clyde.

All JVE students are invited to attend a free football game at THS on August 19, 2022 at 7:00 pm.  Wear your JVE colors or gear or your black and gold and THS gear.
