September 1, 2022

Parents,

As we start the school year of 2022-2023, we want to ensure that your child has a successful year. Attendance is a major factor in the success of a student. Absences during the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the year.

September is Attendance Awareness Month.  We will be having a campaign to promote good attendance. For 4 weeks there will be small prizes such as pencils, key chains, extra recess time, etc. In order for your child  to receive the prizes, they must have NO UNEXCUSED absences the previous week. Due to the School Social Worker’s schedule the day may vary as to when the students receive their prize . At the end of the 4 weeks, the students that have NO UNEXCUSED absences for ALL 4 weeks will be entered into a drawing to receive a $25 gift card. There will be only one gift card per school.

Please remember if your child is absent to send in a note.  The weeks are as follows:

  • September 6-9
  • September 12-16
  • September 19-23
  • September 26-30

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the School Social Worker, Michelle Mull.

Together we can give your child the best start to the school year so they can be successful.

It’s always a great day to be at Jonathan Valley Elementary School.
