Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

This message has information about the annual PTA pumpkin contest, Fall Festival donations, Fall Festival wristbands, Bible Club and Afterschool,  picture day, updated COVID guidance, Remote Learning Days due to inclement weather,  and the JVE Spirit Rock.  

We will be having our annual pumpkin carving contest again.  Each grade level will have a winner, and there will be an overall 1st, 2nd,  and 3rd place.  The grand prize is a free wristband to the Fall Festival.  Pumpkins may be dropped off at JVE October 3-6.  Winners will be announced October 6, the day of the Fall Festival.  

Don’t forget Fall Festival donations such as candy, two liter drinks, and cake donations may also be sent to school beginning next week.  

If you would like to pre-purchase wristbands for Fall Festival you may go ahead and send your money in.  Wristbands and receipts will be sent home on Thursday with students.  

Afterschool Child Care and Bible Club will not meet this Thursday due to the Fall Festival.  

Fall pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 13th.  

The most current Covid guidance for students and staff returning after a positive test and subsequent 5 days out of work/school is that they “should” wear a mask for 5 days upon returning. Note that the guidance says “should” as opposed to “must” and make your decisions based on that language.

If in-person learning is cancelled due to inclement weather, HCS is  likely to designate the day as Remote Learning Optional Workday (RLOW) with front-loaded learning for students.  Teachers will prepare students appropriately with assignments if a RLOW is called.   If an early dismissal is called Afterschool care will only be available for an hour.Please keep this possibility and practice in mind as we move into the late fall and winter.

Don’t forget to be sure and sign up to paint the JVE Spirit Rock.
