Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,
This message has information about Spirit Week, Fall pictures, practice lockdown, upcoming teacher workdays, Scholastic Book Fair, Bookoween, and an invitation for families to join their child’s classroom for a literacy workshop.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Fall Festival a success. We had a great turnout and we are already looking forward to next year.
Spirit Week is coming up October 10-14. Each day has a different theme. Check out the information that was sent home with your child.
Fall pictures will be Thursday, October 13th. This date was scheduled before Spirit Week, so we had to stick with it. With that said, Thursday is JVE spirit day and picture day, so we look forward to seeing our JVE Panthers in their picture day outfits and / or their JVE spirit outfit.
Every year we are required to have two, practice, lockdowns. The first, practice, lockdown must be announced. It will be this Friday, October 14th. Please see the note sent home for more information.
October 17th will be an Optional Teacher Workday. There will be no school for students. October 18th will be a Remote Learning Optional Workday for teachers and students. Students will have assignments that may be completed anytime over the break, but are due by Wednesday, 10/19, in order to be counted present for the RLOW.
We are excited to let you know that the Scholastic Book Fair will be at JVE October 24-October 28. On October 26 all of our K-5 students are invited to choose a book character to dress up as for Bookoween. All costumes should be a school appropriate book character and may not be scary. In addition, families are invited to visit classrooms and learn more about how literacy can be supported through the home and school partnership.
Additional information about spirit week, the upcoming practice lockdown, the Scholastic Book Fair, Bookoween, and family literacy visits to classrooms was sent home with students, through Remind, email, and posted on the JVE website.
Have a great evening, and give us a call if you have any questions.
Go Panthers!
