Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

This message has information about upcoming teacher workdays, Scholastic Book Fair, Bookoween, an invitation for families to join their child’s classroom for a Title 1literacy workshop, and holiday assistance.  

Tomorrow, Monday, October 17th will be an Optional Teacher Workday.  There will be no school for students.  October 18th will be a Remote Learning Optional Workday for teachers and students.  Students will have assignments that may be completed anytime over the weekend,Monday, or Tuesday,  but are due by Wednesday, 10/19, in order to be counted present for the RLOW.

We are excited to let you know that the Scholastic Book Fair will be at JVE October 24-October 28.  On October 26 all of our students are invited to choose a book character to dress up as for Bookoween.  All costumes should be a school appropriate book character and may not be scary.  In addition, families are invited to visit classrooms and learn more about literacy, and how it can be supported through the home and school partnership. After the classroom visits, families will have the opportunity to visit the Scholastic Book Fair.
