Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

This message contains information about our final paper, work-packet, pick up, Yearbook purchases, Kindergarten information video, upcoming Kindergarten registration,  Pre-K through 5 end of the year farwell plans, and Chromebook and materials collection,

Our final work packet pick-up for students not using Google Classroom will be Monday, May 18th, from 8:30-1:00.  Students are strongly encouraged to remain engaged until remote learning ends.   Students who access remote learning are likely to be better prepared for future learning.

We do have 42 extra yearbooks available for purchase.  If you did not pre-purchase one, please call the school beginning Monday morning, May 18th, to get on the list to reserve a yearbook.

Posted on the Haywood County Schools webpage you will find an informative video by our HCS Elementary Literacy Coaches regarding Kindergarten registration and Kinder Camp.  We will still be having rising kindergarten registration on Wednesday, May 27 from 8:30-1:00 pm. This will be drop in / drive thru style on the bus lot side of the school similar to how we have operated work packet pick up. Our Kindergarten teachers and teacher assistants will be outside on the sidewalk to assist you.  We will be handing out information packets and gathering information from parents. If you have a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residence in our school district (preferably a driver’s license), please bring that with you. We will have the capability to capture a digital image of these items, and that part of the registration process will be completed. If you don’t have these documents, please come through the line anyway to pick up an information packet and complete a contact information sheet for us.

Please share this with everyone you know who will be enrolling a kindergarten student at Jonathan Valley for the 2020-2021 school year.

Each grade level has planned an end of the year farewell for the following dates and times.  Please save the date  plan to join us to see your teachers for a special send off.  Fifth grade will be May 26th from 11:00-1:00, Pre-K through Kindergarten will be May 27th from 11:00-1:00, 3rd through 4th grade will be May 28th from 11:00-1:00, and 1st and 2nd grade will be May 29th from 11:00-1:00.  We will be communicating more information regarding Chromebook pick up, book turn in, yearbook pick up, and other materials collection plans in the coming week.  All of this will take place during the dates and times previously mentioned.
