Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families:

All families will be  contacted this week by a Jonathan Valley faculty or staff member to discuss your plans for remaining remote or returning to in person learning on October 5th.  All elementary school students have the option to return to school on October 5th on Plan A.  Please see the press release from HCS that has been included on Remind, on our website, or sent to your email.  If you do not  receive a follow up phone call by Thursday afternoon from JVE regarding your plans, please contact your child’s teacher.  

For your planning purposes, after school care will begin October 12th.  Our afterschool director, Michelle Mull, will be sending home paperwork the first week of school.  We ask all students to have afterschool paperwork on file for unforeseen circumstances that may come up, so we will be able to provide care.  Without paperwork on file, we are not able to provide afterschool care.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity or capabilities to provide morning care as we have in previous years.  Students may enter the school building beginning at 7:30 AM.

More information regarding new procedures, safety measures, and expectations will be sent out next week through Remind, the email connected to your Blackboard phone call account, and posted on our website.  Classroom teachers will also be contacting families next week to let our remote only families know who their child’s teacher will be beginning October 5th.  If other student / teacher reassignments are necessary, your child’s teacher will contact you.  Our goal is to keep our students with the teacher they were originally assigned to, however our remote teachers are JVE teachers too, and in some cases students will be reassigned to another grade level teacher.

Phone call messages have a time limit and the text feature attached to Blackboard Connect has a limit on the number of characters.  So, for phone calls with a lot of information we will use the other modes of communication that were mentioned earlier.
