Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

The following message has information about NC Check-Ins and Thanksgiving Break. 

JVE will have NC Check-Ins next week in grades 3-5.  NC Check-Ins are short, interim reading, math, and science assessments developed by the NC Department of Public Instruction.  The main purpose of NC Check-Ins is to provide our classroom teachers with immediate, in-depth, actionable data and a reliable estimate of students’ current performance on specific, grade level, content standards.  Our teachers use this information and data  to guide their instructional plans and determine which students may or may not need additional instruction on specific standards.  

The NC Check-Ins schedule is:  

4th grade Monday, November 16th and Thursday November 17th

3rd grade, Thursday November 19th

5th grade Thursday November 19th and Friday November 20th

Please make sure to encourage your child to get plenty of rest the night before, to eat breakfast, and to do their best on the NC Check-Ins.

Thanksgiving Break will be recognized November 25th – 27th.  There will be no school.
