1/10/21
Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,
This message contains information about school on Monday, 1/11/21, the potential for inclement weather at the beginning of next week, and a change to our temperature taking procedures in the morning car line, and afternoon car line reminders.
Tomorrow, Monday, January 12th, our in person students will return to school, and our remote only students will resume their regular online schedules.
If we happen to miss any days this upcoming week for inclement weather, they will be Remote Learning Optional Workdays. This means that students will have assignments from their teachers, but there will be no live Google Meets or live instruction. Students should complete their assignments to receive credit for these days. Please tune into your favorite news station or app for pending schedule changes due to inclement weather.
We received an indoor archway, temperature scanner last week. Now, our students arriving in the morning car line will be able to exit their car immediately. Temperatures in the car line will no longer be taken. Instead, your child will enter the front doors at Jonathan Valley and walk through an archway temperature scanner. The scanner will be located in our lobby, able to scan wrists and foreheads, and give a temperature reading. There will be a Jonathan Valley faculty or staff member there to help our students learn the new system, and to monitor temperature scans. If your child’s temperature reads high, they will be escorted to an isolation area near the front office, and we will get in contact with you for someone to come and pick them up. Please make sure you have current, updated, contact information, emergency contact information, and names of adults with permission to pick your child up in case we need to get in touch with you.
Just a friendly reminder as we return from Winter Break about the afternoon car line. Adults picking up students in the afternoon carline should wait in their vehicle or beside their vehicle. Please do not wait on the sidewalk. This is a safety issue, and our students need a clear sidewalk to make their way to their vehicle. If you do wait outside of your vehicle, please remember to wear a mask.
Thank you, and have a great evening.
