Good Afternoon Jonathan Valley Families,

This message contains information about the JVE t-shirt fundraiser for flood victims, outdoor mask update, morning drop off, afternoon car line, bus riders, Kindergarten, beginning of the year paperwork, and Ingles / Publix money for JVE.

JVE would like to thank all of you that contributed to the t-shirt fundraiser for flood victims.  This fundraiser with help from JVE and other schools in HCS raised over $17,500.

A recent change was made to outdoor masking.  Masks are not required outdoors.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you would prefer for them to wear a mask outside.

Please remember our doors open at 7:30 AM.  Students should remain in their vehicles until the front doors are unlocked and someone is outside on duty.  The tardy bell rings at 8:10.  If your child is an afternoon car rider please be at JVE no later than 3:10 to pick them up.  Students not picked up by 3:10 will be sent to afterschool.  We ask that if you are picking up a student in the  afternoon car  line, please remain beside your vehicle or in your vehicle.   When we call students to the car line they are called by location, for example students in the front half of the car line are called down and they line up, and students in the back half of the car line are called down and they line up in a separate line.   Students are directed to the middle of the car line, so as they walk toward the front or back of the carline they can see both rows of vehicles. 

Bus times will continue to fluctuate this week as our Kindergarteners begin staggered entry at JVE.  Please allow at least 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after the normal pick up / drop off time everyday.  We have great bus drivers at JVE, and they try to keep their routes on time, but unforeseen circumstances can arise anytime with traffic.

Please be sure to send your afterschool paperwork back if you have not already done so.  All students need this paperwork on file, even if you do not plan for your child to stay in afterschool, because emergencies do arise, and paperwork must be on file for students to go to afterschool.
