Worked for Haywood County Schools for 18 years. I worked 4 years at Junaluska Elementary as an EC assistant. My first 2 years at Jonathan Valley were also as an EC assistant. My remaining years at Jonathan Valley have been spent in 2nd grade, kindergarten and 1st grade.

I have been married for 30 years to my wonderful husband Roger Fernandez. Roger is employed by the US Forest Service. I have twin sons that are 28 years old. Josh is a graduate from UNCA with a degree in Environmental studies and has a masters from UNC in Public Administration and works as a budget analyst. Aaron is a graduate of WCU with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He is now enrolled at Xavier University for his masters of Education of Coach Education and Athletic Development. He is also on the coaching staff at Davidson College for Womens Basketball. And last but not least I can’t forget my sweet Sophie! She is my Minpin Chihuahua mix.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends! I love sporting events, camping and traveling.
