End of Summer “Ice Cream” for Books Party

On Thursday evening, July 30, about 50 students and their parents ate ice cream and were entertained by Professor Whizzpop and his hilarious magic show. The students who attended the summer library program at least five times out of the six weeks this June and July were invited to this fun event. A total of 140 students came to the library at least one time this summer. Our goal is to keep kids reading so they can aviod the “summer slide” that happens so often when they do not read while school is out. A special thanks goes out to all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who brought students to the library this summer as well as to Mrs. Carreno and Ms. Hembree for spearheading the program and inviting Professor Whizzpop to our party.
